在線教育,一個已經(jīng)被大家熟知的名詞,在這次新冠疫情爆發(fā)后,再次走到了臺前。本期,我們新通雅思寫作課堂聚焦如何把新冠疫情納入雅思大作文素材庫這一問題,跟大家分享在線教育和新冠疫情的那些事兒!
在以往的雅思大作文題目里,有關(guān)“online education”的話題曾經(jīng)出現(xiàn)過。就連咱們中國國務(wù)院的官網(wǎng)也提到了online education在疫情中的極速爆發(fā)。
大家看看這道題:Giving lectures in auditoriums to large numbers of students is an old way of teaching. With the technology available today there is no justification for it, and everything should be done online. To what extent do you agree or disagree? Give your own opinion.
熟不熟悉?大家都知道education類的話題是我們的萬年話題之一,隨著在線教育的蓬勃發(fā)展,再加上這次新冠疫情的“助推”,想不火都難。
老規(guī)矩,先帶著大家讀題。首先掃清詞匯障礙,不認(rèn)識“auditorium”的童鞋,出門右拐快去買字典。(這里插播一條,實際上英文中“-um”是一種表示地點、場所的后綴,看看咱們熟悉的stadium、museum,恍然大悟原來auditorium指的就是觀眾席、禮堂的意思,在這里可以理解成教室(真實的課堂)。Justification來自于動詞justify,英文釋義是“the action of showing something to be right or reasonable”。所以這道題實際在說,教師在教室面向大量學(xué)生授課已經(jīng)是一種老舊的教學(xué)模式了。隨著如今網(wǎng)絡(luò)技術(shù)的成熟,這種傳統(tǒng)教學(xué)模式已經(jīng)沒有存在的意義,所有教學(xué)都可以在網(wǎng)上完成。你多大程度上同意或不同意這一觀點。
由于題目中既提到了technology 又提到了giving lectures,所以大家可以把它看成科技和教育的交叉話題。題目類型還是咱們熟悉的“同意與否類”。
腦洞時刻:
雅思大作文的審題,一定要一眼看穿本質(zhì)。這道題實際上還是讓我們對比“傳統(tǒng)教室聚集型上課模式”和“新興的在線教育模式”,看看兩者各自的優(yōu)劣勢,最后得出結(jié)論:到底傳統(tǒng)教育模式是否仍然存在不可替代的價值,能不能夠被完全取代。
相信大家在漫長的學(xué)習(xí)生涯中,都有過“晨興理荒穢,帶月荷鋤歸“的經(jīng)歷,每天早早起來去學(xué)校,坐在寬敞明亮的大教室里開始一天的學(xué)習(xí),晚上披星戴月,拖著疲憊的身體回到家里。
這種傳統(tǒng)的上課模式,幾乎每個同學(xué)都經(jīng)歷過。這種傳統(tǒng)模式的好處毋庸贅言,首先從教學(xué)效果上來說,面對面授課,教師能通過觀察學(xué)生的面部表情以及肢體語言,判斷學(xué)生對授課內(nèi)容的接受程度,及時答疑解惑。再者從學(xué)生的角度,有些不自覺的學(xué)生,尤其是幼兒及中小學(xué)生,上網(wǎng)課很容易放飛自我,無法集中注意力,不夠自律;而集中在教室上課,即使再不自律的學(xué)生,也會因為課堂紀(jì)律約束、課堂活動、同輩示范效應(yīng)等緣故,強(qiáng)迫自己去參與、去聽課。
好處談了,該說說缺點了。在這次 “新冠疫情“的大背景下,傳統(tǒng)模式的缺點也確實暴露無遺。大家都知道避免聚集是傳染病防控的第一要務(wù),所以疫情期間,所有人都被要求呆在家中。這時候傳統(tǒng)的聚集式授課就無法開展,全國所有學(xué)校都推遲開學(xué),學(xué)習(xí)進(jìn)度被嚴(yán)重拖延,此時家長和學(xué)生都很擔(dān)心課程的進(jìn)度問題,尤其是畢業(yè)班的學(xué)生,更是拖延不得。而此時,在線教育以其便捷、高效、無地點限制等優(yōu)勢”順勢替補(bǔ)上位“,無疑成了最有效的補(bǔ)充。
隨著網(wǎng)課大熱,朋友圈、微博等社交媒體上也陸續(xù)出現(xiàn)了很多關(guān)于網(wǎng)課的搞笑段子,大家吐槽網(wǎng)課質(zhì)量參差不齊,這時候網(wǎng)課的缺點也陸續(xù)暴露出來。首先,網(wǎng)課加重了家長們的負(fù)擔(dān),家長小孩都在家里亂作一團(tuán),孩子的監(jiān)督工作全部交給了家長,而有些家長也要同時在家里辦公,整個家被弄的雞飛狗跳,苦不堪言。其次,學(xué)生的課堂參與度也有顯著下降,學(xué)生之間無法互動交流,老師看不到學(xué)生的具體表情,無法及時響應(yīng)學(xué)生需求,最終影響授課質(zhì)量。另外,長期坐在電腦屏幕前也會影響視力,損害學(xué)生的身體健康。
所以小編的觀點還是傾向于“面授為主,在線為輔”。對于未成年人來說, 傳統(tǒng)模式有不可取代的優(yōu)勢。特殊情況下,在線授課可以作為補(bǔ)充,但這并不是喧賓奪主。最終疫情過去,大家還是會回到那個往日窗明幾凈的教室。對于那些有著明確學(xué)習(xí)目標(biāo)和自律能力的成年人,在線上課則是更為便捷高效的選擇。

Some people feel that in this age of online lectures and computer programs, the traditional way of giving lectures in large classrooms has become old-fashioned (過時的)/ ineffective(無效的). I do not agree with this view. In my opinion, online lectures can be very convenient; however, traditional way of teaching is more effective and makes learning easier.
On the one hand, many people choose to take online lectures because they are very convenient. Many people study while working to upgrade their educational qualifications to get a promotion(升職) at work. These online lectures and online courses will allow working people to watch the lectures during their free time. For instance, these lectures can be watched during the weekend and they also allow people to pause in the middle of the lecture and watch later. Because of this flexibility(靈活性) and convenience online lectures are very popular among many people.
Conversely, many students find the traditional way of teaching in classrooms more effective. Traditional lectures allow students to interact(互動) with lecturers when there is clarification(澄清) required. To put it in another way, traditional lectures establish(建立) a connection(連接) between lecturers and students. For instance, a lecturer can tell at any point of time whether or not his students understand the lesson by simply looking at their faces and body language. Since online lectures are pre-recorded and delivered via the computer, this interaction between the teacher and the student is not possible.
To conclude, it is evident that online lectures give people the freedom to learn at a time convenient to them whereas traditional lectures provide the opportunity to interact with the teacher and clear doubts. In my opinion, online lectures cannot completely replace(替代) the classroom lectures because they fail to create an important human connection between lecturers and students.
