對(duì)話(huà):
1、一般對(duì)話(huà)的主旨題很容易得出,在對(duì)話(huà)的一開(kāi)頭可能就會(huì)出現(xiàn)。如TPO 1 conversation1里面圖書(shū)管理員與學(xué)生的對(duì)話(huà):
L: What can I do for you?
S:I’m supposed to do a literature review for my psychology course, but um… having a hard time finding articles. I don’t even know where to start looking.
2、 但是,在對(duì)話(huà)部分,要注意區(qū)分對(duì)話(huà)主題和學(xué)生見(jiàn)老師的目的。有時(shí)候?qū)W生找老師是為了一個(gè)目的,中間老師和學(xué)生可能會(huì)轉(zhuǎn)換話(huà)題談?wù)搫e的事情。如TPO7的conversation1.學(xué)生先與老師討論了last essay,之后又轉(zhuǎn)折至討論volunteering的事情。
因此要特別注意學(xué)生的第一句話(huà),如果學(xué)生的第一句話(huà)沒(méi)有給出目的,我們要聽(tīng)后面的提示性語(yǔ)氣,如“my problem is…/my question is…,I was wondering…, I was hoping…”,或者在“What can I do for you?”,“Can I help you?”之后的回答。
我們?cè)赥PO5對(duì)話(huà)1中可以聽(tīng)到
Counselor: How can I help you?
Student: Well, I think I might have made a mistake coming to the school.
因此,我們可以明確到學(xué)生存在的問(wèn)題。
講座:
1、在開(kāi)始就直接切入主題 教授在講座開(kāi)頭可能會(huì)直接說(shuō),“Today, I will be talking about…”這樣的題目很容易找到主題。
如TPO6中的一篇lecture:
Ok, I have an interesting plant species to discuss with you today. Um…it’s a species of a very rare tree that grows in Australia, Eidothea hardeniana, but it’s better known as the Nightcap Oak.
2.有些教授就會(huì)東拉西扯。
Last time, we talked about…Today, we will be discussing…
We’ve been talking about…Today, let’s discuss…
Continuing…Today, we will…
如 TPO12中的一篇lecture:
Ok, as we’ve talked about a key aspect of running a successful business isknowing, um, getting a good sense of what the customer actually wants, and how they perceive your product. So with that in mind, I want to describe a very simple method of researching customer preference, and it is becoming increasingly common, it's called----MBWA----which stands for managing by wandering around.
3.或者聽(tīng)完全文,感受一下,他說(shuō)的最多的是什么,這才是主題。
4.講座開(kāi)始時(shí)黑板上出現(xiàn)的專(zhuān)有名詞可能是主題。
5.講座開(kāi)始時(shí)老師可能講的比較亂,然后他會(huì)用一句話(huà)進(jìn)行總結(jié)。
So… therefore… thus引出主題
在TPO5中的一篇lecture:
Have you ever heard the one about alligators living in New York sewers? The story goes like this: a family went on vacation in Florida and bought a couple of baby alligators as presents for their children, then returned from vacation to New York, bringing the alligators home with them as pets. But the alligators would escape and find their way into the New York sewer system where they started reproducing, grew to huge sizes and now strike fear into sewer workers. Have you heard this story? Well, it isn’t true and it never happened. But despite that, the story has been around since the 1930s. Or how about the song ‘twinkle, twinkle little star’, you know, ‘twinkle, twinkle, little star, how I wonder what you are’. Well we’ve all heard this song. Where am I going with this? Well, both the song and the story are examples of memes. And that’s what we would talk about, the theory of memes.
在看選項(xiàng)的時(shí)候,要學(xué)會(huì)排除錯(cuò)誤選項(xiàng)?偨Y(jié)有:
1、出現(xiàn)原文細(xì)節(jié)的選項(xiàng)。
2、如果全篇沒(méi)有進(jìn)行比較,而選項(xiàng)出現(xiàn)“difference, distinction, compare, resemble”等,一般都是錯(cuò)誤選項(xiàng)。
3、出現(xiàn)上節(jié)課講解的信息的選項(xiàng)是錯(cuò)的。
